Bibles donated to the Nabb Center, whether singly or as part of a larger collection, have been integrated into this collection. A variety of print editions spanning from 18th Century to 20th century are represented, as well as various religious denominations and types of Bibles. Most of the Bibles contain hand-written notations of family history – including births, deaths, marriages and baptisms-- for several surnames beyond the title. Some may contain additional clippings or other items and some Bibles do not contain any family information. Family Bibles held by the Nabb Center and not included in this collection are also referred to in the inventory. A partial transcription of the family history pages is available upon request (full transcription will be made available online soon).

Robert E. Perdue Family papers

The Robert E. Perdue Family papers document the ancestors of Robert E. Perdue Jr. His branch of the family lived in the lower Delmarva region, with a majority living in Pittsville, Wicomico County, Maryland. As time progressed the Perdue’s married into other families such as the Jones, Williams, Dennis, and Taylors. The Pittsville Perdue’s played an important part in building the St. John Friendship Methodist church. Research materials include land records, genealogy conducted by Robert E Perdue in the pursuit of his family history. Research was conducted from 2004-2011, with the bulk being completed in 2009-2010. Perdue’s research spans from the 17th century to the 20th century.

Taylor Family Correspondence

Taylor Family Correspondence contains letters from both Lizzie M. Taylor, and John B. Taylor from 1900 to 1937. The subjects of the letters include Lizzie Taylor's career as an elementary teacher at the Savage school, an invitation to Myra Ann Bennett's wedding, property tax receipts from Salisbury, and a payment booklet from the Feldman Brothers located in Salisbury, Maryland. Also in the collection are postcards from Taylor's relatives, a newspaper clipping announcing the wedding of their daughter Kay Taylor, and photographs of Lizzie Taylor and unidentified family members.
